Pre-Purchase
Consultation
We can undertake a pre-purchase consultation with you by phone or in person at our offices in Cheshire, for a fixed priced fee of £150 plus VAT*. This consultation will last approximately 45 minutes and will deal with all your queries and any worries you may have about buying property abroad, either as a holiday home, permanent residence or financial investment.
Typically our consultation will include advice on the following :
In whose name should the property be held?
It may be more beneficial to create and hold it in a company name rather than
your individual name
If you want to generate rental income, we’ll advise
you regarding any planning issues.
Did you know in Florida, for example, only certain properties are within zones
permitting short term rentals?
Should the mortgage be attached to your
overseas property or home in this country?
This could have serious consequences in relation to how much inheritance tax
could be payable on the property upon the death of the owner
How can you arrange your affairs to keep
your tax liabilities to a minimum?
Did you know if you buy a property abroad, you really must have a foreign

We’ll advise you on the purchasing
process and the documents you may be asked to sign.
In Spain, for example, it is common practice for foreign purchasers to be
asked to sign an agreement to reserve/purchase a property and pay an immediate
holding deposit, followed by a sizeable lump sum shortly afterwards.

will be tailored to suit your requirements and the particular country you’ve
chosen.
